Switzerland : Continuous Reduction of Global Yarn output.

12/01/2002 Global yarn and fabric production fell in the third quarter with fabrics faring better than yarns. Inventories of yarns moved higher, with an increase in Asia offsetting stock reductions in South America and Europe, while European yarn and fabric orders both weakened, but in Brazil a fall in yarn orders contrasted with an upturn in the fabric order situation.

Figures released by the ITMF showed world yarn production fell by three per cent in third quarter, driven by a 9.5 per cent slide in output in Europe, a 7.9 per cent fall in output in North America and a 4.1 per cent dip in Asian production.
