YKK & Nendo to show new products at Milan Design Week
Japanese
design studio Nendo Inc., and YKK Corporation, Japan-based zipper
manufacturing company, are set to display concept products at the Milan
Design Week 2018. The event is an important platform for design products
and launching design careers for upcoming designers and international
brands, which will be held from April 17 to 22, 2018, in Italy.
The
items, which give shape to the idea of zippers that would be great to
have in real life, will be shown as part of the “nendo: Forms of
Movement” exhibition. The design studio’s solo exhibition will be held
during Milan Design Week 2018 with Salone del Mobile.Milano, one of the
biggest design-related events in the world, is held.
The five
concept products designed in collaboration with YKK, include a zipper
that can fasten three pieces of cloth at the same time and a zipper that
seamlessly goes full circle and fastens with no start or end points.
They broaden the world of zippers by taking perspectives unlike the
conventional concept of fastening two items in a line. (GK)
