China is one of the
potential markets for textiles, said Mouvent, a new company focused on digital
print using pioneering digital technology headquartered in Switzerland. Making
its textile exhibition
debut in China, the company showcased TX801 8-colour multi-pass digital textile
printer producing prints at ShanghaiTex 2017 that ended recently.
"As we started to look into textile, we did market research and found out
China has one of the biggest market potential, aside India, Italy and Turkey.
Considering competitive environment, we have positioned our printer mid-to-high
end, which enables crisp, colorful, very high printing quality in a
cost-effective way. Textile market is the next market that is going digital. We
have started to set up a network within textile industry. We have established a
strong relationship with Paul Yuan in China and experts in other
countries," said Reto Simmen, CBO Mouvent, in an interview, according to
the press release of Shanghai International Digital Printing Industry
Exhibition (TPF).
"In China, what’s happening now has happened in Europe in the past. Now,
the production is moving into cheap countries. So the Chinese printer
manufacturers have to think about maintaining their business for which they
have to come up with new ideas. They have to be fast because everything is
looking for digital printing system, which can support them moving their
business to next level. There are some strong local brands establishing now in
China. The trends are also going to be faster so the printers really have to
keep step," explained Simmen.
With an ink development centre in Switzerland, the company is planning to
introduce a double speed machine with 16 heads integrated in the second
half 2018, which will double the output. "In 2019, we will introduce a
single-pass machine. I’m convinced China is a good market," concluded
Simmen.TPF 2018 will be organised by UBM China and Sunexpo. As one of the most
influential digital textile printing fairs in Asia, TPF keeps a close eye on
the market trend and technology development.
